Dance Baby Sing - Alfie go round the Sun
A great 'swinging 'song - ideal if your baby just does not want
you to sit down, and a little work out for you too!
Alfie go round the sun
Alfie go round the moon
Hold your baby while standing up,
and rock from side to side |
Alfie go round the chimney pots
On a Saturday afternoon...Wheeeeee!
Rock some more and then on Wheeee! swing your
baby up in the air and around in a circle, as wild as you like,
and depending on how old your baby is! |
You can sing this and use your baby's name, then sing 'mummy goes
round the sun...etc' , daddy, Grandma, the dog - whoever!
If you're sat down try it as a finger rhyme, circleing your baby's
fist with your hand, and on the 'whee!' giving them a tickle all
over. For an older child you can weave your finger in and out of
their upstrectched fingers (as the chimney pots) then end with a
tickle.
Shake Rattle and Sing- Sleepy Head
Older children love to lie down and pretend to sleep, then join
in with the alarm clock, or even shout 'Cock a dooodle doo!' as
one child did at one of our sessions recently!
Hush, close your eyes, go to sleep, sleepy head (twice)
Lie down with your toddler, and
pretend to sleep, lots of snoring etc! |
| Wake up!!!! |
Make an alarm clock noise and call
out 'Wake up!' Shake your hands and get up off the floor. |
Wake up, Jump out of bed
Jump up high and shake your head
Jump up in the air, and help your child to jump too; Shake
your head side to side
Stretch out wide, nice and slow
Stretch out, helping them to reach
their arms and legs wide |
Wave your hands and shout hello!
Wave and shout 'Hello!' |
This song works well with babies too:
Cuddle your baby in your arms and hush her to sleep then bounce
her on your knee to wake her up and help her stretch her arms and
see if she can wave. Try it in front of a mirror so she can wave
hello to herself!
