Piccolo is well known for it's great range of CDs for babies and young children. There are traditional songs and original ones written by Abi and Anna, and the recordings are simple, lively and easy on the ear for parents. The CDs are enjoyed by families across the Uk and abroad and there are lots to choose from. See our Products pages for details and to have a listen!

Piccolo sessions

These provide lively and very friendly singing, music and movement fun for pre-school children. They're perfect for babies (from birth) and small children under five years old. Anna and Abi, who set up, and continue to run Piccolo, are passionate about singing with children and the benefits it brings. Music is a strong motivator, helps build confidence, friendships and social skills - and everyone feels better after a good sing! If you want to share our enthusiasm, learn some songs to sing with your baby or child, make new friends over coffee and simply enjoy good live singing, come along and join in. It's not just for your children - it's for you too!

Let your children enjoy singing, dancing, percussion instruments, puppets, clapping games, finger rhymes, lap songs and lullabies, all in the unique Piccolo style which you and they will love. You don't need to book in advance, or commit to a term's sessions, just drop in to the group that suits you on a given day. And if you can't make it, why not ask Grandad or your childminder to accompany your little one to Piccolo? Times and venues are on our sessions page.

Piccolo has grown from one group of eight children in 2000 to several regular weekly sessions in Whitley Bay and Jesmond, plus visits to schools and Early Years settings. Now hundreds of children enjoy fun, interactive music and song with Piccolo every week.

There's only one Piccolo! We do not run as a franchise. However we do run training workshops for people working with children, details of which are on our training page. We know of several people who have gone on to set up their own groups after training with us, or whose existing groups have benefitted from the training, with new ideas, material and ways of bringing music into the lives of young children.

What else do we do?

We sell a wide range of CDs and a picture song book so you can enjoy Piccolo at home, in the car, and on holiday. They're great for presents too and our on-line payment method is easy to use; there's even a gift wrapping service!

We provide training for adults working with babies and pre-school children who want to use more music in their work. We hope to pass on our passion for making music with children, increase your confidence in singing with them and show you easy techniques and ideas to incorporate into your work. Training is supported by resource packs and CDs.
