Professional Development

Hands on, practical and great fun, we give people the chance to try out new ways of singing and making music with young children, in a relaxed and unintimidating environment. We have the following off the shelf workshops which we can deliver at your national or regional conference (eg NCMA, and Professional Nanny Conference ) or we can be commissioned to run them as part of your current course ( eg for North Tyne Met College and for Newcastle upon Tyne Surestart). Flexibility is our trademark: we can work with small groups or large audiences. We can suggest appropriate training for your staff and write a training course to suit your needs. With Abi’s experience as a qualified NVQ trainer/assessor, the workshops are delivered to encourage individuals to participate as much as possible. You will not be expected to sing solo, but you won’t be able to stop yourself joining in with the singing and actions. Notes and CD handouts make putting the techniques into practice easy and enjoyable.

Piccolo’s clients, including SureStart employees and managers, teaching and nursery staff, playleaders and health professionals, speech therapists and social work professionals favour our informal but informative style. What our Training Clients Say.

We’re members of Music Leader and Sound Sense and have signed up to the Code of Practice for music practitioners, fully insured and with CRB checks for all staff. We have Elementary Certificates in Kodaly Musicianship and are members of the British Kodaly Association.

Fees depend on the preparation involved, the number of trainees and sometimes the travelling time involved. They start at £230. Please contact us for costings and to discuss options.
